Reinforcing Bars

Reinforcing Mesh
Reinforced Steel Bar Suppliers

Hyper Steel & Palisade branches stock a broad range of reinforcing bars, commercially known as “rebar”. These are ribbed steel rods used to reinforce concrete structures from the inside by forming a “skeleton” around which the concrete is set. Concrete requires such reinforcement because of its low tensile strength and consequent demand for a substitute tension device lest the structure collapse. Hyper Steel & Palisade supplies rebar to major contractors with confidence, and also maintains the service levels required by smaller construction companies and owner- builders.
We cut, bend and fix reinforcing steel for all concrete structures and can deliver the pre-fixed units to site, or have one of our qualified teams assemble the units on-site. Applications include reinforcing cages, columns, beams, welded mesh, structural fabric or NHBRC Standard Brickforce. We supply to specification and deliver on time, every time..
Hyper Steel & Palisade supplies reinforcing HT round bars, SANS 920:2011 deformed bars (straightened or coiled), as well as SANS 283:2011 mild steel deformed bars and high tensile steel smooth bars – available in a variety of shapes.
Reinforced Mesh Sizes and Prices

Hyper Steel & Palisade branches stock quality wire and wire products for the construction industry. Like reinforcing bars (rebar), reinforcing mesh is embedded in concrete to add the necessary degree of tensile strength to support large loads; the two materials are almost interchangeable in vertical and horizontal structures. Mesh, however, differs from rebar in that it may be used to shape structures at the same time as supporting them, but is disadvantaged by an inability to be anchored to the ground.
Hyper Steel & Palisade’s reinforcing mesh is manufactured from hard-drawn wire and deformed cold-rolled wire with a minimum ultimate tensile strength of 510 MPa. It features a unique deformed wire pattern, known as the curry pattern, which facilitates superior bonding, stress-distribution and crack-width control. Our reinforcing mesh is made according to SABS standards (SANS 1024:2012). Reinforcing mesh is 2,4 x 6 m in length, but we can size it to customers’ specifications when required. All wire is hard-drawn according to SABS standards and tested as per SANS 920:2011 and SANS 6892-1:2010. Wire can be supplied in coil form, ranging from 500-3000 kg or in lengths from 200-13000 mm.
